Success for ARC Volleyballers!
Recently, three Daylesford College volleyball teams based at The Daylesford Arts & Recreation Centre (The ARC) travelled to Horsham to play in the Greater Western Volleyball Championships.
We’re so proud because the boys’ team won and both girls’ teams finished runners-up! What a great result!
The boys will be off to the Victorian State School Championships on 14th May in Dandenong. This means they are in the top 8 Intermediate School Volleyball teams in Victoria. Last year the year-7 boys came 7th in Victoria and the year-7 girls came 6th.
Fantastic effort. This is another success story for coach, Colin Priest, and for the ARC.
Year 7/8 school Volleyball sports will be held later in the year. We wish them well.
Farewell and Welcome
We say farewell to Linda Carroll after nearly a decade at DNC, the last 9 months as Interim Coordinator. The Committee of Management, Volunteers and the whole DNC population wish Linda well and thank her for her contribution to the Daylesford community.
We welcome Kate Moran who took up the role of Coordinator this week. Kate brings a wealth of experience in designing and delivering community programs and is looking forward to engaging in the work of DNC.
DNC Joke of the Week
A man and his wife were having some problems and were giving each other the silent treatment. The next week, the man realized that he’d need his wife to wake him at 5 a.m. for an early flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence, he finally wrote on a piece of paper: “Please wake me at 5 a.m.”
The next morning the man woke up, only to discover it was 9 a.m. and he’d missed his flight.
Furious, he was about to go and scream at his wife when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed that said: “It’s 5 a.m. Wake up.”
