Former Junior Champion Acquires Hepburn Springs Golf Club

Members of the Hepburn Springs Golf Club have recently approved the acquisition of their golf course and assets by Golf Services Management (GSM). GSM have committed to clearing all of the Club’s liabilities, provide discounted fees to existing members for a minimum of 5 years, and make significant investments in capital improvements works to both the golf course itself and associated buildings.

Interpretive Signage Installed on the Lerderderg Track

The Great Dividing Trail Association last week launched an interpretive signage along the 87km Lerderderg Track from Daylesford to Bacchus Marsh. Signage tells the history and the stories of the people who lived and worked in the area and the unique flora, fauna and geology of the Wombat and Lerderderg State Forests.

Creswick Trails Project on Track

Progress on the Creswick Trails project recently hit a major milestone with around 30 kilometres of trails completed although none of the completed sections can yet be opened. Council has borrowed $4.9 million to complete the project and is continuing to lobby for additional funds from the sports infrastructure funds allocated for the Commonwealth Games.

Professor Barry Golding and the Great Dividing Trail Association is offering family oriented guided bushwalks walks to two significant peaks in our local area: Gurutjanga (Mount Kooroocheang) on September 29 and Leanganook (Mt Alexander) on September 30. There will also be a free presentation about peaks in the Hepburn Shire.

Daylesford Football Netball Club launched their new Jim Gull Memorial Scoreboard this week. The electronic communications board will serve as a display for other Victoria Park users such as the Daylesford Show, the Highland Gathering and ChillOut. And the Club’s Pride is this weekend.
