The Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre (DNC) was a hive of activity this week following the arrival of a generous donation from Chemist Warehouse, delivered via The Block. The sizeable shipment of health and hygiene products was received with open arms and distributed quickly to individuals, families and organisations across the region.

Thanks to the hard work of staff, volunteers and community members, most of the goods were sorted and delivered on the same day.  In addition to many local individuals and families, beneficiaries included:

  • The Good Grub Club
  • CEBI’s local Dignity Pack program – servicing Creswick and Clunes
  • Hepburn Football Netball Club
  • Daylesford SES
  • Shower Bus
  • Hepburn House and John Curtin Hostel
  • Ararat, Horsham and Stawell Neighbourhood Houses
  • YMCA Youth Services

DNC placement student, Noah, thoughtfully assembled “Well Packs” with donated products. These packs contained items to help ease cold and flu symptoms – including Betadine gargle, cough lollies, and vitamin C – beautifully packaged in handmade drawstring bags sewn by a local volunteer group.

“There was such a great energy at the centre,” said Kate Moran, Co-ordinator of DNC. “We had staff, volunteers, friends and family dropping in throughout the day to help sort and distribute. It was a true team effort.”

Huge thanks to all involved in distributing the items and of course, to Chemist Warehouse and The Block for the incredible donation.
