Calling all creatives, artists, and book lovers—Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are about to turn the page on traditional exhibitions with Re-Page, a town-wide celebration of literature, imagination, and upcycled art.
As part of the Words in Winter Festival, Re-Page invites artists to transform old books into unique artworks that respond to the 2024 festival theme: Light in the Dark. Whether it’s sculpture, collage, or altered books, the goal is to breathe new life into discarded pages and create something extraordinary.
Selected works will be displayed in prominent public venues throughout Daylesford and Hepburn Springs from 23 July to 25 August, creating an inspiring cultural trail through the towns during the festival period. Artists also have the opportunity to sell their works, with no commission taken—though donations to the festival are warmly encouraged.
The rules are simple: each artwork must use old books as a primary material, be no larger than 50cm x 100cm, and be suitable for hanging or plinth display. There is a $20 entry fee, and only one submission per artist is allowed.
Completed works must be delivered to Paradise Bookshop (46 Vincent St, Daylesford) by Thursday 17 July, with registration and payment due by Tuesday 15 July. Artists are responsible for the delivery and collection of their works, and should include any pricing and sales details at drop-off.
The Re-Page exhibition is a chance to share your creativity with the wider community, reflect on the beauty of books, and help shine a light—literally and metaphorically—during the depths of winter.
