‘On the couch with Beck Lister’ is part chat show, part therapy!

Anvil Productions is proud to announce their third show in the new ‘On the couch with Beck Lister’ series.

Join Beck (Rebecca) Lister as she chats with writer and lawyer Tony Kelly, opera singer and teacher Christine Douglas and sage veteran Irene Mooney about their work, inspirations, motivations, doubts and disappointments. And ‘On the couch’ resident musician Douglas Lee Robertson.

Tony Kelly

Tony Kelly is a writer, lawyer and CEO of First Nations Legal and Research Services. Tony previously worked as a social worker specialising in at-risk young people and as a park ranger in the Northern Territory. Tony has written for The Monthly, The Big Issue and is co-author of Growing Pineapples in the Outback. Tony was born into a musical family and is the grandson of opera singer Count Ercole Tonti Filippini. Tony lives in Daylesford on Dja Dja Wurrung country.

Christine Douglas

Christine Douglas OAM is an established soprano, singing teacher, opera director, producer and mentor. Her operatic career has seen her perform extensively throughout Australia in leading principal roles. Undergraduate studies at the Victorian College of the Arts with Dame Joan Hammond, were followed by a Master of Music Studies (Vocal Pedagogy) at Griffith University. Following her operatic career, Christine moved into directing with Opera Australia, becoming Assistant and Revival director. She was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to explore best practice in opera training in the UK and USA, following which she returned to Australia and founded Pacific Opera, the Sydney based Young Artist development company which now has alumni singing around the world. She now has a thriving private singing studio in Melbourne, in Daylesford and interstate via Zoom. Christine lives in Daylesford on Dja Dja Wurrung country.

Irene Mooney

Irene Mooney’s passion has always been singing and acting and she has been a member of many local amateur theatre companies and groups. Irene began performing in plays and musical theatre in1966 (she played Meg in Brigadoon) and has never looked back! She has played the lead in many stage classics – Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific, Pyjama Game and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. At 85 years of age Irene has no plans to stop doing what she loves most! Her husband Bill Mooney, a quadriplegic since the age of 16, became an internationally known Mouth and Foot painting Artist. Irene and Bill had 3 children. Irene moved permanently to Daylesford, on Dja Dja Wurrung country, after Bill died in 2016 aged 73.

Rebecca Lister is a writer, producer, professional MC and mental health social worker.
