We are now well into autumn in Daylesford and Hepburn, and the town is coming alive with a spectacular display of seasonal colour. The stable autumn weather with clear days and crisp nights create a wonderful light to highlight our landscape. Deciduous trees are showing off their finest hues – from the patchwork of amber and gold leaves lining the streets to the fiery reds of ornamental grape vines twisting around garden fences, nature is putting on a show worth celebrating.
It’s not only locals who love this time of year in Daylesford and Hepburn – tourists by the busload are drawn to our region by the changing season.
Even everyday scenes are taking on a new charm. A tumble of late-season tomatoes at Tonna’s could be mistaken for a painter’s palette, and a stroll through the Botanical Gardens or around Lake Daylesford rewards visitors with breathtaking vistas of seasonal beauty.
Our Wombat Post photographer, Julie Higgs, has been out in the streets and offers collection of her photos of our beautiful autumn colours.
There’s no better time to grab your camera or phone and capture the colour, texture, and atmosphere of autumn in our region. Whether it’s a misty morning walk, a burst of crimson in your backyard, or a favourite local tree turning for the season, we’d love to see what catches your eye.
Send your best autumnal photos to The Wombat Post. We’d be delighted to share them with our readers and celebrate the stunning autumn we’re experiencing together.
