On the night of Thursday July 14, the Daylesford Community Brass Band performed their ‘Le Quatorze Juillet’ concert to a very enthusiastic, sold-out audience.

This was the 9th year the Band has produced its gala of all things French. Memorable about this occasion were the large number of Marcel Marceau look-a-likes and standout solo performances by Maleita Gouldthorpe, Val Goodwin, Emma Sidney and opera singer Christine Douglas.

‘Le Quatorze Juillet’ is a key fundraising opportunity for the Brass Band and much appreciation is due to local businesses whose donations underpin the raffle and auction – Herbal Lore Liqueurs, Cellarbrations, Bar Merenda, Lavanduala, Swiss Italian Farm, Mitre 10, Istra Smallgoods, Harvest Cafe, The Lake House, Pepper’s Mineral Springs Hotel, Wombat Hill Florists, Officeworks Ballarat and the Community Bank Daylesford District.

All funds raised are put towards essential upgrading and renewal of the Band’s musical instruments. As acknowledged by Mayor Tim Drylie, the Band continues to provide wonderful service and entertainment to our community and beyond.
