Hepburn Shire Council has offered deepest condolences to the family and friends of those who were tragically killed and injured as a result of the horrific event in Daylesford yesterday.
Floral tributes are accumulating at the “From School” sculpture in Burke Square adjacent to the Royal Daylesford Hotel.
Council will support a vigil for victims of the accident this evening behind the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre starting at 6:00 pm.
Police have confirmed that the victims were not locals but visitors to Daylesford. However that does not diminish the impact on emergency services personnel and bystanders who offered assistance at the scene.
Police, the Mayor and Council officers have expressed their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to those who assisted in the minutes following the tragedy.
The many witnesses to the event, and even those were not at the scene, are likely to be incredibly affected by the event.
Community members are encouraged to support one other during this very difficult time.

If you are in the town today, please be respectful around emergency services in the Vincent Street area. Some detours remain in place.
Council will be supporting a vigil at the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre from 6pm tonight. The vigil will be held behind the main building at 13 Camp Street.
There will be representatives from the Victorian Council of Churches, Daylesford Neighbourhood House and various agencies.
