The Daylesford Museum will host a special talk this month, with guest speaker Lynne Cooper sharing the story behind her recently released book, The Mystery Medal.
Cooper’s tale begins with her great-grandfather, Henry Frood, a police sergeant who served across the central goldfields in the 1880s, including a period stationed in Daylesford. At the heart of her research lies a medal that, once investigated, revealed an unexpected connection to the region’s Chinese community and uncovered a story of compassion.
Audiences can expect a warm and personal family journey, woven together with the rich history of the goldfields era.
