I heard it coming
From a distance
Far away
Or so it seemed
On that bright morning
When tears of dew
Touched the window
Pane of my heart
And stole from me my heart beat
But in the beat
The beat of distant drums
The thought occurred to me
That it was my tribe
Marching through
mists that time
had wrought
In steel traps
And incarceration
In that bright morning
The dew was as a
Rainbow of diamonds
Shining out of darkness
Precious jewels of light
Forged through ages
Of pressure and deep
Underground magic
By miracle unknown
birth the prism
to contain it
And surrender it
To our discovery
