Women’s Property Initiative Working to Provide Affordable Housing in Middleton Fields
National Homelessness Week, held annually in the first week of August, raises awareness of homelessness in Australia and the importance of the delivery of social and affordable housing as a long-term solution. Women’s Property Initiatives has recently acquired four new homes at “The Village” in Middleton Field to provide good quality, affordable longer term rental housing for women and children in the Daylesford region.
Community Celebrates Landmark Decision In Liquor Commission
Daylesford community members have welcomed the decision handed down by the Victorian Liquor Commission on 14th August, overturning the Liquor License granted to The Endeavour Group Ltd to establish a Dan Murphy’s on the corner of Bridport Street and Central Springs Road.
3G Shutdown Delayed – Again
The planned shut down of the 3G network has been delayed again, this time until October 28. Those with 3G devices will need to move to devices compatible with 4G and 5G networks.

Winter in the Gardens a Huge Success
A partnership of the Friends of Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens, the Horticultural Society, the Historical Society, the Agricultural Society and U3A filled the weekend of August 3 and 4 August with informative talks and walks, a winter flower show and a wonderful dinner in the Town Hall to celebrate winter in our public gardens.
