The best way to enjoy the annual Daylesford and District Agricultural Show is to enjoy the thrill of walking into a pavilion and finding that your entry has a first, second or third prize certificate beside it and the judges and stewards have written your name onto this years’ podium list.
The 149th Annual Daylesford Show is scheduled for Saturday November 25th this year with presentation of your entries and judging on Friday November 24th. Entries will close on Friday November 17th.
After two years without a show due to COVID restrictions and an absence of livestock last year due to local flooding, the Committee is looking forward to the biggest show since 2019.
Animals back this year will be horses, dogs, sheep and poultry (fowls and ducks) and of course the popular baby animal petting zoo for children.
Also for the children there will be the usual Shows carnival stalls, food and rides and music performances in the Tom Ford Pavilion (including activity tables for the little ones) and Professor Wallace’s puppet theatre.
The Show Schedule (programme) for this year has already been printed and is available in several local businesses and to past competitors. The Show Committee and volunteers will also be available at 94 Vincent Street (the old Tourist Information site next to the Post Office) each weekend in November to answer questions, sell tickets in the big raffle and assist anybody who is thinking of entering our competitions or just coming to the show for the first time. There will also be a stall at the weekly Sunday Morning Market at the railway Station.
Volunteer helpers do a great job year after year at the Daylesford Show and if you would like to take part and wear a helper’s shirt for two and a half hours or more on the day please ring the Show Secretary, John Nicholls, on 0493 709 293 to register your interest.
Look out for our posters around town and our schedules at selected sites.
See the Daylesford Show website or the Facebook page for more information. A pdf copy of the Show program is available online at their website.
