Classical music has a rich heritage of LGBTIQ+ musicians and composers.
Homophonic! is a concert of new classical music written by LGBTIQ+ composers celebrating the legacy of artists such as Tchaikovsky, Poulenc, Copland and Cage and performing the work of 20th and 21st century queer composers. The program features famously gay composers alongside new Australian music that will entertain and enlighten even the most experienced concert goer.
The concert features Melbourne quintet, 3 Shades Black, and the voices of the Consort of Melbourne.
Compered by artistic director Miranda Hill, “Homophonic!” brings together some of Melbourne’s most in demand professional musicians, to perform some outlandishly amazing music.
The concert is on Saturday 6 March 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hepburn Pavilion Café Amphitheatre. Tickets are available from the ChillOut website.
