Five local sporting clubs will benefit from funding recently announced under the Sporting Club Grants Program.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence announced a total of 875 grants for 740 sporting clubs across the state who will share in more than $1.2 million from the Program. The grants support clubs to purchase uniforms and equipment, upskill volunteers, coaches and officials, and improve their accessibility and engagement with local communities.

Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas said, ““This program is always popular amongst our local clubs and athletes. It supports them to have what they need, to take part in the sports they love.”

Local sporting clubs which were successful in their grant applications were:

  • The Wombat Fight Club Daylesford received $1,826 for first aid training and another $178 for first aid equipment.
  • The Daylesford and Hepburn United Soccer Club received $1000 for uniforms for 2025.
  • The Daylesford Lawn Tennis Club received $1,000 for tennis balls for juniors.
  • The Daylesford Table Tennis Association received $1000 for an upgrade of playing equipment.
  • The Glenlyon & District Pony Club received $962 for new long sleeve sun protection competition shirts.

The Sporting Club Grants Program has provided more than $18 million to community sport and recreation clubs across the state over the past decade.

The program is in addition to the Regional Community Sport Development Fund which provides infrastructure upgrades and other programs including the Regional Community Sport Infrastructure Fund to enable and improve sports participation in regional Victoria.
