It’s been a long, cold, wet winter but the daffodils are blooming and the thwack of leather on willow is echoing around Laurie Sullivan Reserve in Hepburn. So spring is in the air and cricket is about to return for season 2022/23.
After two very successful premiership seasons in A Grade Reserve of the Castlemaine District Cricket Association, Hepburn Seniors are stepping up to A Grade with their first game scheduled to commence at 1:00 pm Saturday October 8 at the picturesque Guildford Oval.
A Grade teams in the CDCA are required to wear club uniforms rather than traditional whites. Accordingly, the club has unveiled new kit for the senior side – a distinctive blue and red top emblazoned with a kookaburra. The jumpers still have room for sponsor’s logos so local businesses are welcome to come on board.
The club is also fielding women’s and age group teams. New players are always welcome.
Club training is at 5:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Laurie Sullivan Reserve, 20th Street, Hepburn.
