Daylesford Rotary’s support for the local community has been active over summer.

Daylesford Rotary has donated $1,000 to the Daylesford Community Op-Shop which had to close temporarily recently due to a bed bug infestation. Rotary also provided its barbeque trailer and volunteers to help with fundraising at the Sunday Market on 25th January. The Daylesford Community Op-Shop is continuing its fundraising efforts and if you can help please contact Michelle Clifford.

Daylesford Rotary has also lent out its bbq trailer to the Daylesford Cinema Group to assist with their fundraising and also is providing $2,500 each year for three years. In return Rotary will have access to promoting its activities at film showings.

Other community projects and activities Daylesford Rotary has supported recently include:

  • $1000 in annual awards presented to four  local schools.
  • Working with the Daylesford Men’s Shed on the Christmas trees and Window Wombats which were displayed in the town centre. The Daylesford District Community Bank and Hepburn Shire Council have provided great support for these initiatives.
  • Donating 10 copies of Brian Nash’s book “The Golden Shire” to the Council library and local schools.
  • Supporting the Daylesford New Years Eve Gala and Parade with a donation of $1500

The Daylesford Art Show which has been running for 30+ years is planned to be in the Daylesford Town Hall again during the 2026 Melbourne Cup Day long weekend. Because of the closure of the Town Hall for works over the past two years Rotary has run the past two Art Shows at Stanbridge Hall. These have been very successful raising more than $30,000. Those funds are used to support community needs and projects mostly in our area.

Daylesford Rotary is looking for volunteers to help with the planning and running of the 2026 Daylesford Rotary Art Show. If you are interested please contact rotarydalesford@gmail.com.
