The Daylesford Fire Brigade has launched a recruitment campaign to attract new members. The brigade is calling on locals from Daylesford and surrounding towns to turn their spare time into something extraordinary by becoming volunteer firefighters.
Volunteering with the Brigade offers flexibility while making a significant impact on the lives of others. Whether individuals seek to protect what they love, challenge themselves, or gain valuable skills, this initiative provides an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the community.
Captain Glenn Webster emphasised the need for new volunteers. “The community relies on local people stepping up,” he said. “Firefighting is not just about battling blazes – it is about protecting the town, supporting others in emergencies and being part of a team that has each other’s backs. Regardless of background, training and support are available to help new members find their place in the brigade.”
To assist potential recruits, the brigade will host information sessions throughout April. These sessions will provide an opportunity to meet current members, ask questions, and gain insight into what volunteering with the CFA entails.
To enhance accessibility, the brigade has also launched a new website where individuals can explore different roles, training opportunities, and how volunteering can be incorporated into daily life. The CFA offers high-quality training in first aid, teamwork, leadership, and emergency response-skills that have lasting benefits.
By joining the CFA, volunteers gain new experiences while becoming part of a supportive team. Local heroes come from all walks of life, and community support is needed now more than ever.
