Daylesford Museum will open its latest exhibition, Hatch – Match – Despatch, on Saturday 11 October from 11am to 3pm. The display explores three of life’s most significant milestones – birth, partnering, and passing – through objects, photographs and stories drawn from the museum’s collection.

On show will be christening gowns, baby bonnets, wedding dresses, and mourning outfits, offering a glimpse into how local families have marked these stages of life over the generations. A large collection of wedding photographs from Daylesford and district families will also feature.

Curator and fabric conservator Larry Edwards has assembled the exhibition, which is generously supported by the Rosalind Pyers Memorial Exhibition Support Fund.

As part of the event, community members are invited to bring along their own family photographs to be digitised and added to the museum’s growing community collection.

Hatch – Match – Despatch opens on Saturday 11 October at Daylesford Museum, 100 Vincent Street. Entry is $5 for adults, with free admission for children and museum members.
