Run Recreation Activities at The ARC in Term 4

Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre is inviting individuals, community groups and organisations to bring their skills, passion and energy to The ARC – Daylesford’s largest indoor recreation facility.

The ARC (located on Smith Street) features a double-court stadium, stage, seating and flexible spaces that make it ideal for a wide range of recreation, fitness, arts, and community activities.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to run programs, classes, or activities at The ARC. These could include (but are not limited to):

  • Fitness, dance or movement classes
  • Team sports, social games, or training programs
  • Creative workshops or performing arts activities
  • Health, wellbeing, or lifestyle programs
  • Youth, family, or seniors’ activities.

This is an opportunity to be part of the growing recreation and community life of Daylesford and Hepburn Shire, with access to an inclusive and versatile space that welcomes all ages and abilities.

Interested in running a program?

We’d love to hear from you!  Contact Kate at the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre on 53483569 or email coordinator@dncentre.org.au  to discuss your idea and book a time to view the space.

Together, we can reinvigorate The ARC as a vibrant community hub for connection, health and overall wellbeing.

Wired Awake – Improvised Piano for Dreaming

Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre is very excited to host this fabulous event… the first of many we hope!

Step into a space where time slows down and music becomes a doorway. Pianist Ellen Sorensen, known as Shadow Feet, invites you to sink into an improvised soundscape woven in the moment—delicate, raw and alive.

Bring along a cushion and a warm blanket, settle into comfort, and allow yourself to drift. Each note is a thread in a dreamlike journey, carrying you away from the noise of the world and into a space of stillness, imagination and renewal.

The piano becomes a voice, telling stories that are never the same twice—moments of tension, release, beauty and joy.  This is not just a performance, but an immersive experience – a chance to be fully present, to close your eyes, and to dream while awake.

Visit our “What’s On” section at www.dncentre.org.au to reserve your ticket.

DNC Joke of the Week

John, a well-to-do bachelor, invited his mother over for dinner one night.  During the meal, Mum couldn’t help notice how attractive and shapely the house keeper was, and wondered if there was more going on than meets the eye.  John, sensing what his mother was thinking, said to her “I know what you’re thinking, Mom, but I assure you my relationship with the house keeper is purely professional.”

A week later, the house keeper told John that ever since his mother’s visit a silver vase has been missing.  John sent his mother a note which said “Mom, I’m not saying you did take the vase, and I’m not saying you didn’t, but the fact remains one has been missing since you were here”.

A few days later he receives a note from his mother. “John, I’m not saying you sleep with your house keeper, nor am I saying you’re not.  But the fact remains that if she were sleeping in her own bed she would have found the vase by now. Love, Mom”.

[If you’ve got a better joke, (and doesn’t everyone??) send it to admin@dncentre.org.au and we’ll publish it. (Remember, this is a family publication! 😊).  We’ll even include your name if you wish – or you can protect your anonymity!]
