Pam Gleeson is a highly regarded Australian artist whose creative practice has evolved through a distinguished career in both photography and painting. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tasmania, she established and operated a successful photography studio in Hobart for over 20 years, earning a reputation for artistic excellence and technical expertise.
Following her career in photography, Pam embraced painting as a full-time creative pursuit. Now based in Glenlyon, Victoria, she works from her home studio, where her years behind the camera continue to influence every aspect of her artistic process. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions across both photography and painting.
Drawing on her extensive photographic background, Pam has developed a painting style that celebrates light, colour and composition. Her keen eye for perspective and visual storytelling is evident in each piece, with many of her landscapes reflecting the expansive viewpoints that first captivated her as a landscape photographer. Inspired by the beauty of the natural world, she finds endless creative possibilities in the changing light, colours and intricate details of the environments around her.
Working across landscapes, seascapes and still life, Pam carefully studies the interplay of light, form and atmosphere to create paintings that are both realistic and emotionally engaging. Through her work, she hopes to draw viewers into each scene, encouraging them to pause, connect with nature, and share in the sense of wonder and appreciation that continues to inspire her own artistic journey.
