Max Primmer Master of Ceremonies in Melbourne

Daylesford community stalwart and 2023 Ageing Well Award winner Max Primmer MC-ed the “Beyond Age” showcase event at the Melbourne Town Hall on June 11, 2026.  The event was held in Swanston Hall, in observance of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, and was hosted by Seniors’ Rights Victoria and COTA Victoria.

The occasion featured storyboards created by older Victorians, guest speakers, and a conversation centred around combatting ageism.

Max (Maxwell) Primmer has been on the Ageing with Pride committee at Hepburn House for many years.  He is a well-known community advocate and radio host from the Hepburn Shire.  He was named a recipient of the Ageing Well Award at the 2023 Victorian Senior of the Year Awards.

That evolved into running Ageing Disgracefully where Hepburn House residents could get together to watch a movie, or head to the Amazing Mill Markets for a coffee morning.

The success of that program resulted in Max deciding to also volunteer to chat to residents who perhaps did not have many visitors, for whatever reason.

Max hosts The Breakfast Show on Hepburn Radio (https://hepburnradio.net.au/programs/) on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week, and co-hosts various other shows.  He spent eight years hosting a show on the Rainbow Radio community radio station and also currently presents on Phoenix FM in Bendigo and Main FM in Castlemaine.

Max continues to be a great asset to our community.
