The Mystery Medal: A Family Journey Through the Goldfields

The Daylesford Museum will host a special talk this month, with guest speaker Lynne Cooper sharing the story behind her recently released book, The Mystery Medal.

Cooper’s tale begins with her great-grandfather, Henry Frood, a police sergeant who served across the central goldfields in the 1880s, including a period stationed in Daylesford. At the heart of her research lies a medal that, once investigated, revealed an unexpected connection to the region’s Chinese community and uncovered a story of compassion.

Audiences can expect a warm and personal family journey, woven together with the rich history of the goldfields era.

The talk will be held at the Daylesford Museum, 100 Vincent Street, on Sunday 21st June at 2.00pm. All welcome
