Vale Rosalind Brooks

Last week, DNC Management and staff attended the funeral service of Rosalind Brookes, better known as Roz.

Roz took part with the DNC “Wednesday Group” each week and loved coming to DNC.   She was a leading light among the Group and her interactions with the staff and her fellow “Wednesday Group” participants were a highlight for us all.  We always knew when Roz was in the building!   She was loud, but she was also very polite and caring.  She had a wicked sense of humour and always called a spade a spade.  There was no beating around the bush with Roz, she called it as she saw it.   She was also very creative which not many people will be aware of.  One of her pieces of art still adorns the walls here at DNC.   She had a great eye for colour and whimsy.

All at DNC will miss having Roz as part of our “Wednesday Group” and our thoughts go out to her family and loved ones.

Four Golfer Jokes (From the DNC Jokes Archives)

  • Golfer: “That can’t be my ball, it’s too old.”
Caddie: “It’s been a long time since we teed off, sir.”
  • Golfer: “How do you like my game?”
Caddie: “It’s very good – but personally, I prefer golf.”
  • Golfer: “Do you think it’s a sin to play on Sunday?
Caddie: “The way you play, it’s a sin on any day.”
  • Golfer: “This is the worst course I’ve ever played on.”
Caddie: “This isn’t the golf course.  We left that an hour ago.”

[If you’ve got a better joke, (and doesn’t everyone??) send it to  admin@dncentre.org.au  and we’ll publish it. (Remember, this is a family publication! ?).  We’ll even include your name if you wish – or you can protect your anonymity!]
