Work is due to commence in mid-October on upgrades to Chatfield Reserve at Lake Daylesford. The works will improve the accessibility and amenity of the area and create a better linkage and design consistency between the Reserve and the previously upgraded foreshore area.

Friends of Lake Daylesford had extensive consultation with the Shire and their landscape architect on this project.  Council were very receptive to input and modified the plan to take account of all suggestions made by the Friends.   COVID and its impacts have drawn the project out and the Friends are pleased to see it’s finally happening.

The works will include new accessible asphalt footpaths, gabion retaining walls along the lower path, levelling of the grassed area, accessibility improvements to the BBQ area and general landscaping and planting.

The site will be closed to the public for the duration of the works. An alternative pedestrian route will be provided to maintain access between the pedestrian crossing at Bleakley Street and the car park.  It is anticipated the works will be completed by the end of December 2022.
