Homelessness

DNC would like to thank Hepburn Shire Council for its support via the Community Grants program, for the fit-out of our Homeless Shower and Laundry facility.

This facility will help provide dignity to those sleeping rough, by supporting personal hygiene and accessing clean clothes.  Development of the facility is also being supported by Central Highlands Rural Health and the Department of Home and Community Care.

We are hopeful that it will be fully operational by December 2022.

Tea for Two (or more!)

This event is sponsored by DNC, Belgravia Leisure and the Pavilion Hepburn Springs, and is free to residents of the Hepburn Shire Community. It is organised to help promote community connectedness, as well as to help showcase our local venues.

Volunteerism

DNC is a Not-for-Profit organisation and we hope to hold more community events in the next 12 months.  If you would like to join DNC as a volunteer member, you will be first to hear about any events like this and will be able to take advantage of any member discounts we can offer for the various events.

It’s only $5 to become a member and you’ll make your membership fee up with one event!  CLICK HERE to fill out our online membership form – or you can download a form, fill it out and send it in to us via email.  Being a member supports DNC and will also give you the ability to vote at our AGM should you wish to attend.

DNC Joke of the Week

Roger is retired and now volunteers to entertain patients in assisted living homes and hospitals. He visited one hospital in Melbourne and brought along his portable keyboard.

After telling jokes and singing songs at patients’ bedsides, he said farewell and, “I hope you get better.”

One elderly gentleman replied, “I hope you get better, too.”
