Nominations are now open for Hepburn Shire’s International Women’s Day Heather Mutimer Honour Roll.

International Women’s Day is celebrated across the world on 8 March each year. The purpose of the day is to recognise women and their achievements.

The Heather Mutimer Honour Roll was established in 2005 to pay tribute to women in the Shire who made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of women. Each year as part of International Women’s Day, successful inductees are announced and added to the Honour Roll.

“The Honour Roll provides a forum to acknowledge women who have made a difference in our Shire,” said Mayor, Cr Tim Drylie.  “By acknowledging these women, past and present, they become role models for generations to come.”

A nomination form and a list of previous inductees is available on the Council website. If you want more information, contact Bridgette O’Brien by email at  bobrien@hepburn.vic.gov.au or call 03 5321 6439.

Nominations are open until Thursday 27 October at 2pm. The new inductees will be announced at an International Women’s Day  event on the 8th March, 2023.

Council is also looking for community members to join the Heather Mutimer International Women’s Day Advisory Committee. The aim of the committee is to provide Council with advice on the Heather Mutimer International Women’s Day Honour Roll.

Council is calling for applications from suitably qualified and experienced community members. Applications are now open and will close on Monday 26 September 2022.

For those interested in applying, please read the Committee Terms of Reference and complete your application online. For enquiries, please contact Sue Le Greca on 0488 604 902 or email slegreca@hepburn.vic.gov.au
