A funding pool of $40,000 is available to create dedicated youth spaces for community groups who are engaging with young people . The Youth Space Activation Grants Program will provide up to $8,000 eligible projects.
This is a one-off funding program from Council for projects that align with the Social Theme of Hepburn Shire Council Youth Strategy 2016-2021. This involves increased opportunities for safe, low cost interactions including movie nights, festivals and gathering spaces for young people.
“Space Activation” grants are intended to to improve social options, by enhancing current youth spaces and developing new dedicated youth spaces.
Projects could include:
- Purchase of furniture and equipment
- Youth driven Art installations
- Activities and games to support Young people
- Creating Youth friendly spaces in your program
- Additional technology to support Young People
Local not-for-profit organisations which are incorporated or which have an auspicing agent with an ABN are eligible to apply. Organisations must be able to demonstrate an established relationship with young people in the community and must involve youth in the design of spaces.
