Wombat Forest Vineyard has been named winner of the 2023 Reader’s Choice Awards for the wineries in the Macedon Ranges and Spa country by the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG).
The AGFG is designed to give the Australian public the opportunity to vote for their favourite establishments throughout the year. The Guide accumulates votes in various categories and regions. Wombat Forest Vineyard received the most votes in 2022 for wineries in the Macedon Ranges and Spa Country.

Wombat Forest Vineyard’s first plantings were in 1997/98. Brendon and Deidre Lawlor are the founders of this family owned and run business. They specialise in cool climate, boutique wines including their award winning Blanc de Noir, Pinot Noir, Sparkling Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
They currently have a range of wines including Blanc de Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Verdelho, Cabernet Rose, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.
Their recently refurbished cellar door is open Friday to Sunday at 189 Springhill Rd Denver. The cellar door, extensive outdoor deck, courtyard and lawn areas make the winery a popular destination. Visitors enjoy their popular seated tastings, seasonal platters, wine by the glass and take away sales.
