As part of Words in Winter, ROOMERS, from City of Port Phillip have partnered with local theatre company Lab Kelpie and Yandoit Cultural to present Winter Solstice: Three Groups, Many voices, Unexpected Perspectives – a spoken word, song and performance from both City of Port Phillip and Hepburn Shire writers and performers.
The Roomers program has been operating since 1996 and offers a free writing program for rooming house residents in the City of Port Phillip. The key components of Roomers are a free, twice-yearly magazine, free weekly creative writing classes, a mentoring program and regular opportunities to perform at spoken word events, festivals and other professional and community celebrations.
