Strolling the streets of cities and towns in France or Italy with a knowledgeable local introducing you to the culinary delights and history of their home town is a joy to experience. If you have fond memories like this, it will interest you to know that type of experience is about to be re-created in Daylesford.
The Central Highlands Growers & Producers Hub is holding “Forage & Feast – A Taste Of Summer in the Central Highlands” from January 12th. to February 15th, 2026. Forage & Feast is an exclusive insight into the hidden vibrancy of Central Highlands food culture. flavour, indulgence, and innovation abound in this region so enliven your summer with local culinary talent, impassioned growers, and artisan producers.
Created and conducted by Daizy from Alice’s Journeys, Daylesford will have its very own food and history tour as part of Forage & Feast. Daizy’s local historical knowledge is second to none and this, combined with lots of foodie tastings and talks, is creating a unique opportunity for all participants. The tours will take place on Sunday mornings from 9am during the period 12th January to 15th February.
This small group walking tour event, begins at the local Daylesford Sunday market at the height of the summer harvest. With your local experienced tour guide, enjoy a personally curated introduction to select local growers and producers, who supply many of our finest restaurants. Everyone will taste and collect samples of fresh produce before embarking upon a spirited exploration of the culinary highlights that lie on Daylesford’s doorstep at Wombat Hill.
Visitors will grab a coffee, refreshing Hepburn Springs Mineral Water, artisan baked goods and handmade chocolates. Sharing the culinary themed stories of mineral water, macaroni and bullboars, that represent the region’s food history, this tour will enter secret, unknown historic buildings. The tour will include a stunning selection of locally sourced delicacies for brunch in one of the town’s famed venues with local wine / beer / coffee / tea. The tour will culminate at the home of award-winning Hepburn Distillery for a tour and decadent gin tasting. Tote gags are provided to collect your samples to take away at the end of the tour. Daizy always like to share the love so $5 from each ticket sold will go to a local food charity.
The producers and growers that will be featured include Mt Franklin Organics, Brooklands Free Range Farm, Two Fold Bakehouse, O’Toole’s Honey, Voyager Canteen, Daylesford Sausage Van, Hepburn Distillery, The Chocolate Mill, Hepburn Mineral Water, Hepburn Distillery and BellSprout Bakehouse. There’s also a couple of surprises Daizy is keeping under wraps.
