The Wombat Post is back again for 2022 after our summer recess. And what a summer it has been – Ash Barty, cricket, floods, wild weather and of course Omicron and the informal lockdown.

This will be our 3rd year and as usual we will publish weekly, updating at 3pm on Friday, with more urgent stories when they arise. We will also maintain our social media posts through our Facebook page and our weekly update email to subscribers.

We would like to thank those who have become or renewed their membership over the break. Your contributions are vital to keep us going.

For other readers, please consider subscribing,  becoming a member or renewing if you haven’t already.

This year there are already a number of important local issues we are following. They include the Rex, the Western transmission lines, power outages, the change in aged care services and new developments.

We will continue to strive for rigorous, independent and balanced coverage of issues to Inform and strengthen the Daylesford and Hepburn Springs community.

As well, we will maintain our community and business directories, calendar of events, photos and death notices.

We wish all our readers the best for 2022.
