Daylesford Lawn Tennis Club welcomes visitors and locals to its beautifully maintained grass courts in picturesque surrounds looking over to Wombat Hill. Young or old, beginner or advanced, social or competitive, the Club will work to help members and visitors enjoy their fantastic game.

The Club is privately owned, but visitors are very welcome and encouraged to play. During the season, nets are always up. Simply pay for court hire online through Book a Court ($20/hr per court) or by cash in the honesty box at the gate. Memberships are available and are excellent value for such an extensive and beautifully manicured country tennis club.

As a way of promoting the Club to the wider community, the Tennis Club is hosting Welcome Week over the Melbourne Cup long weekend from Thursday, October 28 to Wednesday, November 3. The courts will be open every day with events for new players wanting to give tennis a go. There will be social tennis, tennis for beginners (juniors and seniors) and free tennis coaching.

“The Daylesford Lawn Tennis Club is proud to be (to our knowledge) the only tennis club in Australia and maybe the world that celebrates the start of its season with a Welcome Week,” said DLTC President, Greg Malcher. “After a long, cold, wet winter with exceptional challenges we want to see as many members, newcomers and visitors of all abilities getting out on the courts. This year we are introducing Tennis with Tots for new parents, on Wednesday November 3 from 1-3 pm. If there is sufficient interest we hope to make it a regular weekly event.”

On Friday, October 22 at 5:30 pm, the Club will offer a free tennis coaching session with Tennis Coach, Brian Carr. Brian will lead players through rotations giving tennis and tips. Bookings are essential as places limited. Contact Trish at trish.kevin@hotmail.com to book a place.
