A special event at Yandoit Cultural will feature Daylesford’s Vasko Drogriski and local Band Without Borders in an afternoon celebrating the Balkans.

Vasko Drogriski was born in Macedonia and recently  returned to visit his mother country with his daughter Leah.  Vasko will share a stories of things they saw and conversations they had in the villages and towns of Macedonia. Theur travels took them from Istanbul to Macedonia, Croatia, then through Montenegro, Bosnia and back to Macedonia. They spent time at Lake Ohrid, St. Naum, one of Europe’s oldest and deepest lakes and met locals there living amongst monasteries along the lake’s edge.

Vasko will be joined by the wonderful Band without Borders, formerly known as KGB, who will accompany his stories and celebrate the true heart and spirit of Macedonia playing the liveliest gypsy sounds from the Middle East, Scandinavia and the Balkans. Made up of local musicians from various towns and villages in Victoria’s central Highlands, Band Without Borders takes great pride in sharing their music with the community.  Their music will energise and raise everyone’s spirits. Come along to dance like you’ve never danced before – we’ll clear a space!   They will be a 6 piece band for this gig. All are welcome and the more the merrier. Bring your family, friends and loved ones.
