The ovens are warming and the mixing bowls are out – the 2025 Lyonville Bake Off is set to be the most exciting yet! Join the fun on Sunday 26 October from 10:30am to 3:30pm at Lyonville Hall, Bremner Avenue, for a day filled with delicious treats, community cheer, and country creativity.

By mid-morning, the hall will be alive with the scent of cinnamon, chocolate, and freshly brewed coffee as bakers and volunteers prepare for one of Lyonville’s most loved events. The Bake Off is more than a competition – it’s a celebration of local spirit and the people who make it all happen.

This year’s event features six baking categories: Kids (12 and under), Decorated Cakes, General Cakes, Cupcakes & Slices, Tarts & Pies, and Special Dietaries. Entries can be dropped off between 9:00 and 10:00am for judging, with a Winner’s Ribbon and Prize awarded in each category.

Once the judging is complete, all entries will be donated to the Cake Stall, where visitors can purchase a slice of the action. The much-loved silent auction will return, offering the chance to bid on whole cakes and other edible masterpieces.

Outside, families can enjoy the spring sunshine with Devonshire tea, barista coffee, and light lunches served by the hall’s tireless volunteers. Even furry friends are welcome, with baked doggie treats available so no one misses out.

The raffle promises an impressive selection of prizes generously donated by local businesses – another great way to support the community and take something special home.

Behind the scenes, volunteers are the heart of the Bake Off, from baking and serving to setting up displays and keeping the coffee flowing. Organisers are always looking for extra hands to help on the day.
