Rural Australians for Refugees Daylesford (RARD) is hosting a ‘Feast For Freedom’ fundraising dinner on Friday 23rd April (6.30 -9.30) at the Victoria Park Pavilion in Daylesford.

The feast will consist of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine prepared by RARD members and supporters. The cost is $35.00 per head. Numbers will be capped so bookings are essential.

Judy Harris, a spokesperson for the organisation said  “The proceeds of this latest fundraising event will go to organisations such as the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre (ASRC) who assist refugees, particularly those recently released from detention.

“Already the ASRC has provided $68,000 in support to the 68 men and women recently released into the community providing each with a $1,000.00 EFTPOS card. A recent Daylesford garage sale organised by RARD raising more than $2,000 but more funds are needed to support the remaining 120 plus  people when they are released into the community.”
