The Artamidae Quartet will hold a family-friendly, interactive concert featuring Beethoven’s Opus 18 string quartets, where you decide the program!

This special choose-your-own-adventure style event will allow concertgoers to learn about music of Ludwig van Beethoven’s famous Opus 18 string quartets and to speak personally with the musicians about their favourite music before choosing what they would most like to hear.  The audience decides the program! Experience your very own, unique, Beethoven string quartet. A different program every time!

The Artamidae Quartet was a hit of the Adelaide Fringe and DreamBig Children’s Festivals. Their concert is a relaxed, accessible and interactive show for ages 6 to 106 (and beyond)! A perfect introduction to the wonderful world of Beethoven, string quartets and chamber music.

Established in 2018 at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU), the Artamidae String Quartet has gone on to win numerous awards including the Ross Peters 4MBS Chamber Music Prize and the 2021 ANAM Obligato Chamber Music Prize.

They have performed in masterclasses with members from the Borodin, Emerson, New Zealand and Australian String Quartets and are currently continuing their studies at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), where they are mentored by Caroline Henbest, Dr Robin Wilson, Sophie Rowell and Howard Penny. In 2023 they performed in the ANAM Quartetthaus season at the Melbourne Museum.
