Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre Helping Locals Apply for the Power Saving Bonus
The Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre (DNC) is lending a helping hand to community members wanting to access the Victorian Government’s Power Saving Bonus.
The $100 Power Saving Bonus is available to eligible Victorian households as a one-off payment designed to help ease the pressure of rising energy costs. Applications can be completed online, but for many people, navigating websites and uploading documents can feel daunting. That’s where the DNC is stepping in.
Staff and volunteers at the Centre are offering free support to locals through the application process.
“We know that technology can sometimes be a barrier,” said Kate Moran, DNC Coordinator. “We want to make sure that everyone in our community can access the support they’re entitled to, without it feeling overwhelming.”
For every application processed, the Victorian Government provides a small contribution to the Centre, helping us continue to support local services and programs.
To apply, households will need a recent electricity bill, their concession card (Health Care, Pensioner, or Veterans’ Affairs), bank account details and a form of identification. Once the application is submitted via the secure portal, the payment is transferred to their nominated bank account within a few weeks. It takes just 5-10 minutes to complete.
The service is open to all eligible residents, and appointments can be booked by contacting the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre on 5348 3569 or by dropping in during office hours.
By providing this support, the Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre continues its commitment to making life a little easier for locals, ensuring no one misses out on valuable financial relief.
DNC Joke of the Week
My four-year-old granddaughter asked: “Where does poo come from?”
To make it simple, I said: “You just had breakfast?”
“Yes”, she replied.
“Well, the food goes in your mouth down into your tummy. Our body takes all the good stuff it needs out of the food, and then what’s left goes down to your bottom – and when you go to the toilet that comes out as poo.”
She looked confused and stared at me in stunned silence for a few seconds.
Then she asked: “And Tigger?”
[If you’ve got a better joke, (and doesn’t everyone??) send it to admin@dncentre.org.au and we’ll publish it. (Remember, this is a family publication! 😊). We’ll even include your name if you wish – or you can protect your anonymity!]
