Victoria police are asking local residents and businesses to have a say about safety concerns and their ideas for Daylesford and Hepburn Springs.
The police are running a community survey on local issues from 13 November to 18 December this year. The survey covers safety at night, road safety, family violence, theft, alcohol and drugs, property crime and domestic violence. The survey gives locals a chance to suggest how they would like safety concerns to be addressed by the police.
It only takes a minute or two to complete. All information provided is anonymous and will only be used to improve the safety of the community.

Launching the survey in Vincent Street today, acting inspector Ben Young, said,
“it is impossible for us to do our job without engagement and participation from the community. So we are here today to work out what’s important for the community. Police are members of the community. We live here. We socialise here. Our children go to school here. So we have a vested interest in making the community the safest place we can.”
The survey will let the police know what the community thinks about safety and the extent to which they support police efforts to improve it. The survey covers the Moorabool policing area that includes Daylesford and Hepburn Springs.
Local police officer, acting senior sergeant Matthew Flood, was at the launch with Inspector Young encouraging members of the community take part in the survey. He said he was expecting a large increase in visitor numbers over the weekend and that police would be making sure they were visible and encouraging social distancing and COVID safe behaviour.

Once the results are in ,Victoria Police will report back to the community. They will use the information to improve the safety of the local community.
