Framed by the spreading branches of a stately Horse Chestnut tree (Aesculus hippocastanum), is the magnificent Blue Atlas Cedar (Cedrus atlantica), arguably the most magnificent tree in the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens. Both trees are included in in the National Trust Register. The whole of the Botanic Gardens is a wonderful place but the area around the rotunda between the water reservoir and the Glasshouse is particularly beautiful – a great place for a family picnic or to find a simple moment of quiet solitude. Thanks to Lyn Smith for sharing this striking image.
