The Daylesford Arts and Recreation Centre (ARC)

DNC manages The ARC on behalf of the community.

The ARC consists of:

  • Court/Stadium 1 & 2 (double basketball courts with spectators stand)
  • Court 3 (single basketball court)
  • Foyer / Kiosk (heated area, AV system, café style seating and kiosk)
  • Multi-Purpose Room / Canteen
  • Squash courts (two full sized squash courts) available for hire. Racquets and balls available at no extra charge from DNC

All spaces can be hired individually and are available outside of school hours as well as weekends.

The ARC makes for an incredible  birthday party venue for children or adults, or a space for a large capacity function for 300 or more and anything in-between. Cert III in Early Childhood Education & Care Course in 2023.

DNC are calling for expressions of interest for our CERT III EARLY CHILDCARE & EDUCATION COURSE. This course is being offered as a “fee free” course (eligibility criteria may apply) and is going to be a great opportunity for participants to gain qualifications and employment locally. Participants will learn locally and at the end of the course, gain qualifications to work in the Child care sector.   We are currently taking expressions of interest from interested parties. We hope to run a series of community events throughout the year, as well as some “member-only” events, so if you would like to join DNC as a member, go to the “About” link on our website, find the Membership Form and send it through to us!

Venue Hire!

Did you know DNC has several rooms, large and small, available for hire?  All rooms can be hired on a casual or permanent basis.  We also have video conferencing equipment available which is included with your room hire rate!  Other areas include a computer lab, function spaces, kitchen facilities and class rooms.

Our spaces are suitable for meetings, conferences and events, classes, community activities and social gatherings. The possibilities are endless! If you want to arrange a site inspection to see our rooms, call us (53483569) to make a time.

DNC Joke of the Week

An elderly husband and wife noticed that they were beginning to forget many little things around the house.

They were afraid that this could be dangerous, as one of them might accidentally forget to turn ff the stove and cause a fire.

Their doctor told them that many people their age find it useful to write each other little reminder notes.  They thought this was good advice.

When they got home, the wife said “Dear, would you mind getting me a dish of ice cream from the kitchen – and why don’t you write that down so you don’t forget?”  “Nonsense,” said the husband, “I can remember a dish of ice cream!”

“Well, said the wife, I’d also like some strawberries with it please.  You’d better write that down.”

“Don’t be silly” said the husband.  “A dish of ice cream with strawberries.  I can remember that!”

“Thanks, dear.  And could you put a dollop of whipped cream on top please?  Write yourself a note because you’re sure to forget.”

“Come on” replied the husband.  “My memory’s not that bad!  A dish of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream on top coming right up!”  And with that he shut the kitchen door.

The wife could hear him getting out pots and pans and making noises inconsistent with preparing a bowl of ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream.

He emerged from the kitchen half an hour later.

Walking over to his wife he presented her with a plate of bacon and eggs.

The wife took one look at the plate and said “Where is the toast I asked for?”
