Nominations Open for International Women's Day Honour Roll

We all know amazing women in our community. Some work quietly behind the scenes making a difference in the lives of others and some are valiant and vocal, creating change. It’s time for the community to once again honour a small handful of these inspirational women.

For 16 years, Hepburn Shire Council has honoured the incredible work of our local women as part of the Heather Mutimer International Women’s Day Honour Role. Nominations are now open for the 2022 inductees.

Earlier this year, Frances Fiddian, Betty Johns and Verena Doyle were inducted into the Heather Mutimer IWD Honour Roll. Frances Fiddian was inducted for her service to the Nursing Mothers Association of Australia (NMAA).

Betty Johns was recognised for her volunteer contribution to many local organisations including the Daylesford Community Brass Band, the Blood Bank, the MS Op Shop, Hepburn Primary, the Hepburn Football Netball Club, ANZAC and Remembrance Day events, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens and the Love your Sister campaign. Verena Doyle was named for her inspirational work with Scouts Victoria.

Help our community recognise the amazing women in your life, in our community, by nominating them. From teenagers not afraid to stand up for change to some of our incredible seniors and every age in between, let’s work together to highlight the inspirational women in our Shire.
