The Daylesford Museum is supporting the Friends of the Wombat Hill Botanical Gardens with a new exhibition, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, as part of theĀ Winter in the Gardens festival this weekend.
The exhibition will be open both Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and will continue on Saturdays through August.
Highlights of the exhibit include historic plans and images combined with several works of art. A series of 1960s images of snow covered Daylesford, by former resident Peter Lane, is a highlight of the exhibition. Rare film footage of 1915 events in the area that includes a gathering at Wombat Hill will also feature in the exhibit.
This exhibition is supported by a Hepburn Shire Community Grant, the Community Bank Daylesford District and the Rosalind Pyers Exhibition Fund. Local U3A members and museum volunteers will staff the exhibition over the opening weekend.
