Dear Editor,
The Council election is very important for our future. In the last three elections only one of the councillors who served in the previous term was re elected each time. This is not enough for consistency .
This time it is important that the best retiring councillors be returned to provide leadership especially on finance and debt issues.
Since serving 18 years as a councillor on Daylesford and Glenlyon Council and being elected as Mayor on four occasions I have had an interest in Council issues.
I believe that two stand-out leaders have been Cr Hood and Cr Hewitt. Sadly on debt and finance issues they were often voted down.
Their membership in the new Council will help to introduce new Councillors to these very important issues.
Keith Pyers,
Daylesford
