Friends of Cornish Hill (FoCH ) is a group of volunteers who have, over the years, planted hundreds of native trees and grasses as well as brush-cut the ever growing grass around the picnic table areas.
At a working bee on November 7, the Friends welcomed the help offered by several adults and a few children. Much weeding around growing trees, repairing tree guards, brush cutting and cutting out broom and gorse weeds was done in just 2 hours. The Friends extend their thanks to those who volunteered their time.
But there is still plenty to do. This is a reminder that another working bee will take place this Sunday, December 5, so why not come along from 10am until noon.
Park at the end of Stanley St then walk a short distance to the table in the picnic area. Please bring your own gloves, water bottle and sensible work attire. Come along and meet some new friends and help keep our beautiful Cornish hill beautiful!!
Please note that over the summer period, we will not be holding regular working bees. Hopefully with support from the community, working bees will recommence in late autumn, 2022.
