For those of us in the regions, Lockdown 7.0 came very suddenly. (But those in the city may not even have noticed that it happened.) Here’s a quick rundown on what’s open and what’s not.
Council services are closed. The Customer Service team is available by telephone on 5348 2306. Payments can be made at the Post Office, on-line or by telephone to the Customer Service number.
Libraries are open for click and collect only. Reserve books online and when you receive a message the that book is available, phone your library and arrange a time for pickup.
Council Transfer Stations are open for “essential” waste only. Essential waste drop off is available at transfer stations for those who don’t have a kerbside service or have waste that impacts human health, causes odours, attracts pests or is a safety issue, such as storm damage that impacts property access.
Grocery stores and liquor stores are open. Coles, Blake’s, Tonna’s, Hepburn General Store, Liquorland, Cellarbrations are all open regular hours. Coles has plenty of toilet paper.
Pharmacies are open. Blooms The Chemist is open regular hours.
Retail. Most shops are closed (bookstores, clothing and shoe stores, gift shops). Hardware stores remain open.
Restaurants, cafes, bistros. All are closed for dine-in; some are open for take-out. See websites and Facebook pages for hours and menus.
Pubs are closed.
Playgrounds, skateparks and outdoor gym equipment are closed.
Rotary Daylesford Farmers’ market for Saturday, August 27 is cancelled.
Daylesford Sunday Market will be open Sunday August 29 as a limited market. The market will only be open as an essential service food and grocery market. Trains will not be running. COVID rules will be enforced.
Men’s Sheds are closed. Daylesford Men’s Shed is running drop-in Zoom sessions on Mondays and Thursdays.
Gyms and fitness centres including the Springs SIS Wellness Program are closed.
Daylesford Olympic Pool is closed – but the Lake is open.
