Hepburn Wind is partnering with local provider t2zero (t2z) to deliver an affordable bulk-buy, providing premium heat pump water heaters for Hepburn Shire residents.
Thanks to government rebates, premium heat pumps are far cheaper than ever before, with bulk-buy participants able to save thousands on a new hot water heater.
t2z Business Executive Jürgen Rhyon said the benefits of heat pump technology had never been clearer. “Electric storage water heaters account for a substantial component of household electricity consumption,” said Jürgen. Imagine being able to reduce this component of consumption by 80%! The Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificate (VEEC) rebate is at levels never seen before, making this a perfect time to transition to this technology.”
Hepburn Wind and t2z will be running two webinars that will demystify the technology, explain the bulk-buy process and give community members an opportunity to ask questions.
General Manager of Hepburn Wind, Taryn Lane, said, “As part of Hepburn Z-NET we’re committed to reaching zero-net energy by 2025 and zero-net emissions by 2030. Energy-efficient technology brings down household energy costs while supporting those targets.”
The Hepburn Z-NET Community Transition Plan found that households across the shire could save up to 18% off their electricity use by switching to hot water heat pumps.
Thanks to funding received from Sustainability Victoria’s Community Power Hubs program, Hepburn Wind is now able to deliver this bulk-buy as part of their Hepburn Branch work.
