Daylesford artist Brian Nash is celebrating 26 years of living and painting in the region. To mark the milestone, Brian is exhibiting a collection of works at The Convent Gallery, Daylesford, from 11 October for one month. Three other artists will also be exhibiting alongside him.

Brian has been painting professionally for more than fifty years and has held over fifty solo exhibitions during that time. His works have received numerous awards and are held in private collections across Australia and overseas.

One of the highlights of Brian’s current exhibition is Bullarto Railway Station, the highest-elevation railway station in Victoria.

Brian has long supported local community causes, including donating paintings for the annual Daylesford Rotary Art Show raffle. This year’s Art Show opens on Thursday 27 October and runs over the Melbourne Cup Day long weekend. Raffle tickets are available in the Daylesford shopping centre and at the Art Show, with all proceeds supporting Rotary’s community projects in Daylesford and Hepburn Springs.

The exhibition at The Convent Gallery also features works by Fiona Madigan (mixed media), Levena Vos (oils), and Cecilia Cabalquinto (black ink and gouache). More information is available on The Convent Gallery website.

Brian has also published a book, The Golden Shire, which features more than 170 artworks depicting 24 towns and locations across Hepburn Shire. The book includes historical notes and highlights of each area, the result of more than twenty years of research and painting. The Golden Shire is available from Paradise Bookshop or directly from Brian.
