Reconciliation Week in Hepburn Shire focused on our young people.  We want to educate our children about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, culture, and country.

We were delighted to support a First Nations program, “Little Wombats,” designed for children aged 3 to 5 years. Cameron and Andrea are the founders and presenters of this program, where they use Yidaki & Clap Sticks (music and dance), art, games, and storytelling to help children learn about First Nations Culture.

Little Wombats performed at Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford, and Trentham libraries in the weeks prior to and during Reconciliation Week.   Children from preschool and kindergartens in all towns participated in the sessions.
