I was elected in 2020 to represent Birch ward and have provided responsible representation by listening to community views to seek the best solutions for both Daylesford/Hepburn Springs and Shire residents.
With an unsubdivided Council and incoming Councillors will have to make decisions for all across the Shire. I can do this having supported funding for projects including the Trentham Mechanic, Djuwang Baring (Creswick trails), FOGO and the Glenlyon recreation reserve Masterplan.
I can make difficult decisions. I did not approve the construction contract for the development of the Rex Theatre, an unpopular decision for some Birch residents. However it was a responsible decision given the massive increases in construction costs proposed.
There is a significant challenge for the next Council to be financially sustainable whilst also delivering on the services local government must provide. In addition to roads, rubbish, footpaths and drainage, council needs to maintain and develop our sport and recreation facilities, our libraries, our parks and gardens whilst also supporting our vulnerable  residents, including our children, our older residents and those with a disability. If re-elected I will continue to listen to residents and rate payers and work hard to ensure the financial sustainability of the Shire.
