On Sunday November 13th it was a full house Yandoit Cultural, the old church in the bush, as ARIA award winner and songbird Kavisha Mazzella delighted the audience, gathered from all around central Victoria, with her original songs and stories. She was joined by Nick Lyon on base guitar and violin, and she inspired concert goers to get up and dance between the old pews.
The concert was introduced by Ukrainian born Michael Olijnyk who provided valuable background and context to the current conflict as well as what’s needed most for refugees at this time.
The audience were generous with their donations, raising $2,150. The money will go directly to a church on the Polish border where 90% of refugees are finding sanctuary. No administration costs will be deducted and monies will contribute towards shelter, food and medicine especially, as winter draws in.
